Skins Trailer Season 1 and 4

In the first Skins trailer, it portrays a teenage house party. The trailer itself plays on many stereotypes that teenagers are out of control and throw enormous, messy parties when their parents aren’t around. This portrayal is very exaggerated and unrealistic, but there are many teenagers to whom this would appeal due to the carefree and no rules attitude that it shows.
In the second Skins trailer, the portrayal is a little more realistic and dark in showing the teenagers going to a pub rather than a house party. However, the portrayal of the teenagers starting the fight in the pub is once again, very stereotypical as it is what is 'expected' of teenagers to do (Start fights, act irresponsibly, etc). This portrayal would perhaps not appeal to many teenagers as it's very dark and almost frightening with its portrayal of fights, and it most definitely would perhaps not appeal to an older audience who already see teenagers as irresponsible and would just see this programme as glorifying this kind of behaviour.

I think the trailer does reflect the representations suggested by the Company Pictures as it does involve or imply everything that is in the trailer. However, the Company Pictures seem to play this idea that this show is 'sweet, charming and heartbreaking' which is definitely not portrayed in the trailer at all; the trailer shows a group of teenagers acting irresponsibly, getting drunk, having sex and acting out stereotypes which are portrayed a lot in the media, to me, this is not at all 'sweet, charming or heartbreaking'.

Company Pictures are involved in TV Dramas such as Shameless, Einstein and Eddington, The Devil's Whore, The Take, Wild at Heart and many more. Most of the TV Dramas that Company Pictures are involved with are not Youth TV but also Period drama, Novel Adaptations and Crime dramas.
